2004 Tibra Awards Results--Revised
Dear friends:
We regret to inform you that the previously announced 2004 Fijra Award recipient has been disqualified because of violating rule (e) of the Tibra Awards Agreement (http://www.tibra.org/awards/2004/ta-agreement.pdf.) Consequently, the 2004 Fijra Award and Scholarship have been reassigned to the nominee with the next highest ranking.

As we apologize publicly for our oversight, we also thank those who raised the issue and brought it to our attention indirectly. We encourage them and others to contact us directly in the future, even if anonymously, not only to confirm their good intentions but also to ensure their message gets to its intended destination.
We must also take this opportunity to state a position that many parents and educators know well: It is one thing to condemn an instance of misconduct, but a completely different matter to rush to judging, condemning, or defaming the person behind the act, especially when that person is a promising youth. Condemning any act may be an individual's right, but condemning another person can be a violation of that person's right and the laws.
We hope that you understand and support our decision to revise the Awards. Just as important, we also hope that you share our resistance to passing judgment.
