Tibra Update: Feb 7, 2002
Hello friends,
This is an update on the 2002 Tibra Awards.
Five nomination packages were received and five judges committed by the deadline of February 1st, 2002. Thanks to all the participating judges and the nominees and their nominators, and thanks to all who provided leads to both groups.
We are short of our fund raising target of $2,500, but only by a small amount of $167.50, and the defecit is covered by outstanding pledges. We are deeply grateful to the 18 contributors who kindly donated in amounts ranging from $20 to $485. Please remember to send in your outstanding pledges. Every amount counts and every one of us can make a significant difference.
Nomination packages will be sent to the judges by 1 March 2002.
The final results will be announced on the Tibra web site on 1 May 2002.
A big salute goes to the five outstanding young women nominated in this round. Wow! Your achievements are truly a credit to yourself, to your parents and mentors, and to our community at large. We wish you all good luck and look forward to your continued success and distinguished contributions to the Libyan community.
